IN CASE OF RAIN:

Ten of the twenty-five venues are either inside or can move inside so they will continue rain or shine. In the case of a possible day-long rain, the Festival Committee, the Police and Public Works will make a decision concerning the viability of the majority of outside venues. That decision will be made by 9:30 AM on event day.

Carrboroland, Fifth Season, Milltown & Jessee's will make their own call.

If changes occur to the current performance schedule, they will be announced on the Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department weather line. (919-918-7373)

The ten sites that will still offer entertainment are:

Looking Glass Balance Movement Century Center The Station

Fleet Feet and Arts Center Cats Cradle

Armadillo Grill Open Eye

Music has always been a part of community life. Today, people are enclosed in their own world of mp3's, social media and smart phones and musical spontaneity has all but disappeared. Let's get backto community interaction and fill the air with MUSIC for all to hear and enjoy!! During the week leading up to the Carrboro Music Festival, various musical instruments will be available for you to pick up and play or bring your own and join in with others.

We wish to thank all the performers who have volunteered their time and energy over the past 14 years. Also, thank you to the sponsors, volunteers and venues. Our festival would not exist without them.

The 2011 event presents a myriad of musical styles (at 25 venues) with over 180 different musical aggregations- ranging in size from solo artists to a twenty piece jazz orchestra.

~ Looking Back for a moment ~
The first four years the festival was held in June and called The Fete De la Musique. In 2002 we moved to the last Sunday in September and began calling it The Carrboro Music Festival. 2010 will be the ninth year as festival coordinator for Gerry Williams, who says "This is the most incredible music event that I've been involved with during my thirty year career in and around music. Unlike many aspects of the music business, this is entirely about celebrating our community and its music. The range and quality of what we see and hear each year is simply amazing!"

Volunteer on Festival Day!
Want to be a part of this incredible community event? You can do that while making new friends or hanging out with old friends. There are numerous types of jobs to be done. Help backstage, assist in traffic direction and parking or work at an information table. Those are but a few of the ways that you can help while still hearing an awful lot of music.
Students can receive Service Learning hours while all volunteers will get a free festival T-shirt, and a free raffle ticket.

Posters and T-shirts are still available!

The Carrboro Music Festival founding member and musician Janet Place created a special design for the 14th annual Carrboro Music Festival.
The 2011 T-shirt will be sold at four designated sites during the Music Festival or can be bought at the Carrboro Recreation and Parks Department prior to and following the festival.
Call 918-7364 to confirm the of the shirts.
