Our day long, free festival features music at various indoor and outdoor venues. The outdoor sites present music until dark, while some of the indoor venues go well into the evening. | ~ Looking Back for a moment ~ The first four years the festival was held in June and called The Fete De la Musique. In 2002 we moved to the last Sunday in September and began calling it The Carrboro Music Festival. 2008 will be the seventh year as festival coordinator for Gerry Williams, who says "This is the most incredible music event that I've been involved with during my thirty year career in and around music. Unlike many aspects of the music business, this is entirely about celebrating our community and its music. The range and quality of what we see and hear each year is simply amazing!" For a quick look of what
the Carrboro Music Festival is all about (filmed in 2005)-
2005 video by BeeryMedia. We wish to thank all the performers who have volunteered
their time and energy over the past 10 years. Our festival would not exist
without them. |

Want to be a part of this incredible community
event? You can do that while making new friends or hanging out with old
friends. There are numerous types of jobs to be done. Help backstage,
assist in traffic direction and parking or work at an information table.
Those are but a few of the ways that you can help while still hearing
an awful lot of music. Posters, Raffle Tickets, and T-shirts
The Carrboro Music T-Shirts $8.00 XXL Shirts are $12 Tickets for our annual raffle- which not only seems
to have something for just about everyone but also a greater chance of
winning than just about any raffle you'll ever see- can also be purchased
at those tables. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. Winning tickets
will be drawn in the week following the event and winners will be notified
by phone. Children's Activities The Town Commons will again feature a number of activities for kids. A twenty foot high scramble slide will give our youngsters plenty of exercise. The Scrap Exchange will be providing materials and trained staff to supply a fun, educational, hands-on creative arts experience. Specialty food vendors will be there to provide sustenance. All of these activities are still right next to the Town Commons stage where six wonderful bands will provide the music.
