This September 30th marked the 10th Anniversary of The Carrboro Music Festival. Our day long, free festival features music at various indoor and outdoor venues. The outdoor sites present music until dark, while some of the indoor venues go until midnight. The 2007 event presented a myriad of musical styles (at 22 venues) with 160 different musical aggregations- ranging in size from solo artists to a seven piece World Music band.

The 2008 Carrboro Music Festival will be held on Sunday, September 28 at various venues throughout Carrboro, NC.

Gerry Williams and Recreation Supervisor- Kim AndrewsThe first four years the festival was held in June and called The Fete De la Musique. In 2002 we moved to the last Sunday in September and began calling it The Carrboro Music Festival. 2007 will be the sixth year as festival coordinator for Gerry Williams, who says "This is the most incredible music event that I've been involved with during my thirty year career in and around music. Unlike many aspects of the music business, this is entirely about celebrating our community and its music. The range and quality of what we see and hear each year is simply amazing!"
