The Carrboro Police Department held it's first Citizen's Police Academy on Saturday, October 24th, 2015.  This academy was designed and implemented by officers of the Carrboro Police Department's Patrol Division, Community Services Division and Criminal Investigations Division.  The Citizen's Police Academy covered a variety of topics including: the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, the operations of each division of the Police Department, a Department tour, a vehicle and tools demonstration, several scenario training exercises and a K-9 demonstration.

The next Citizen's Police Academy will be held September 10th, 2016 at the Carrboro Police Department from 8 A.M. to 6 P.M.

The goal of the Citizen's Police Academy is to provide citizens of the Town of Carrboro a chance to get an up close and personal look at the Police Department that protects and serves them.  Learning how police officers conduct their jobs on a daily basis will help foster greater understanding, cooperation and communication.
