  2. Wild & Scenic Film Festival

    September 5, 2019, 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM

The Wild & Scenic Film Festival is a collection of films from the annual festival held the 3rd week of January in Nevada City, CA which is now in its 17th year! Wild & Scenic focuses on films that speak to the environmental concerns and celebrations of our planet. Featured at the tour event in Carrboro, we’ll see activists at work fighting against coal ash, climate change, contaminated drinking water, mining projects, and more. The festival is a natural extension of Haw River Assembly’s work to inspire people to act on behalf of the environment. Haw River Assembly protects the Haw River Watershed. This includes nine hundred and twenty miles of streams feeding into the Haw along the 110 miles of the river, the 14,000 acres of Jordan Lake, and the plants, animals, and people who depend on the river. We work as advocates to stop pollution and are building a watershed community that supports clean water through our outreach, education and water quality monitoring programs.
