Carrboro Music Festival

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a lot remains unknown about the size and scope of this year’s event.  We are currently accepting applications and proceeding with our usual event, but modifications including a reduced number of performers, limits to crowd sizes, limited availability of venues, virtual streaming options, and more may be necessary.

The 2020 Carrboro Music Festival will be held on Sunday, October 4th. Kickoff events will be held on Saturday, October 3rd.  This year marks the 23rd Anniversary of the Festival.

The main event will be held on Sunday and will feature a wide-variety of acts at venues all over Downtown Carrboro. Saturday’s kick-off event will feature bands at Carrboro Town Commons, beginning at 2:00pm. following the Farmer’s Market. A free, ticketed, show will be held at the Cat’s Cradle at 8:30pm.

The Carrboro Music Festival is an effort to host a FREE two-day event that showcase Triangle-area performers and the varied musical styles they represent. All of the performers are volunteers who donate their talents to foster a strong sense of community and to reveal their talents to a wider audience.

The event is a product of a coordinated effort by the Carrboro Recreation, Parks, & Cultural Resources Department and the Carrboro Music Festival Planning Committee.

This program is supported by the Town of Carrboro and the Carrboro Tourism Development Authority.  Generous support is also provided by the local business community.  Please visit the sponsorship page for a complete list of sponsors.
