NOTICE -- By order of the North Carolina Supreme Court, filing for all offices for the 2022 primary is suspended. This includes the rescheduled municipal contests, and any separate filing period for those municipal contests in January.
The March 8, 2022 primary has been moved to May 17, 2022.

The Carrboro Town Council has called a special election to fill a vacancy on the Carrboro Town Council.
The candidate filing period begins on Wednesday, Dec. 8, and ends at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 21.
The vacancy came about when Damon Seils, who held a Council member seat with a term until December 2023, was elected as Mayor of Carrboro. The Council called the special election to coincide with the general primary election. This action was taken by resolution https://bit.ly/3rNEwv0 during its organizational meeting held on Tuesday, Dec. 7.
