You’re invited to join Mayor Damon Seils on your bike for a Ride with the Mayor, on Tuesday, May 9.
People with bikes are encouraged to gather at Town Hall, 301 W. Main St., shortly before 7:30 a.m. for a quick update on the proposed route and instructions for the group ride.
This year, we will be focusing on the benefits of cycling and rolling to work or school. We’ll plan to stop at the annual bike breakfast along the Libba Cotten Bike Path for bike gear, safety inspections, breakfast and time to chat with other cyclists. Commuters can continue to their destinations and others can return to Town Hall.
This year’s Ride with the Mayor is just one of the many Bike Month activities happening in the community this May.
Mark your calendar for Ride for the Ages on Saturday, May 20, starting at the Farmers Market, 301 W. Main St., at 12 p.m.
Biking is an easy way for people to reduce their carbon footprint and advance the Town’s climate action goals by avoiding the use of single-occupancy vehicles and reducing reliance on nonrenewable resources for transportation.
