The Town of Carrboro would like to inform the public about the upcoming construction on South Greensboro Street set to begin June 11th through August 24th. Woodhill N.C. LLC and North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) have notified the town of the need to close South Greensboro St. to traffic from June 11th through August 24th for construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Rand Road, Old Pittsboro Road and S. Greensboro Street. The closing of South Greensboro St. for this amount of time, while inconvenient in the short term, will be beneficial in the long term, as it will result in a shorter construction period for this project.
The Town of Carrboro is aware of the disruption this project may cause, and is developing a communication strategy to ensure citizens will be properly informed. We are also aware of how this construction project may affect businesses and nearby neighborhoods -- our team is working on a proactive communications plan to help ease annoyance and keep customers shopping downtown.
