The Carrboro Police Department protects the citizens, businesses and properties within the municipal limits of the Town of Carrboro by providing committed law enforcement officers and community services that foster a safe living environment in our community.
Our headquarters are located in the heart of downtown Carrboro in the landmark Century Center Building at 100 N. Greensboro St.
Our department employs 42 people (including 39 full-time, sworn law enforcement officers) functioning in various roles within the department.
We are equipped to respond to emergency and non-emergency situations 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year. We have uniform patrol officers, investigators, community services officers, school resource officers and program support staff who work tirelessly to help make our department and community a better, safer place to live and work!

In an emergency or life-threatening situation:
CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY!
Carrboro Police officers are typically dispatched through Orange County Communications, our 911 call center. Do not hesitate calling 911 if your situation requires the immediate response of a police officer.
If you need to file a non-emergency report or report a crime that has already occurred, you may do so by visiting our office during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m.), or you may call the main Police Department phone number at 919-918-7397.
Officers cannot take reports via email; however, you may request case updates via email.
